Hey there everybody, yes I'm talking to you too, guy/girl who lurks and looks for stuff to download. As you may or may not know, CrowdGather has acquired Beat-boot-ique and I have been given the role of community manager here. Except there's one tiny problem. There really isn't much of a community to manage is there?
What I'd love to know is:
1) Why isn't there?
2) What do you think is wrong with Beat-boot-ique
3) What is right here?
Basically I see that people are coming here, but they aren't logging on or even joining necessarily and I'd like to know why that is.
I, for one, think this place needs a whole new look and a front page that has interesting content and other cool stuff on it. Maybe some new subforums and some merging of old ones as well? Do you agree, disagree, or do you just want me to go away and get hit by an asteroid?
Give your opinions, I am definitely listening =)

Ok so it's been a month and no one has anything to say? Geez!
Saying something is better than nothing ... even if you just give a link to a site you like better.
Once the whole crowdgather network is linked together and this place is busier we will be looking for mods to help out with the site. When it comes time to pick mods we'll want people who can contribute some ideas in helping this place become what we know it can.
So come on hit that quote button, it won't bite!

I have only just joined your site so I am not 100% qualified to repond as I have not explored it all. However, I am a member of a dozen other DJ Forum, download and music sites and I can't really see what your point of difference is or what you are trying to achieve ?
You don't seem to be one thing or another (if you are then I am afraid it is not clear to me)
Eg: Download Site,Music info Site,Chat Room ????
1.Your Home page is not dynamic enough compared to other sites.
2.The download forum/system could use some work .
If you look at the 8th wonder website their DJ remix up load/download and rate page is the best I have seen.this might give you some pointers.
In terms of your front page, check out [Only registered and activated users can see links] me,this is as good as it gets !!!!
I don't mean to be negative or to disparage your site but you did ask for suggestions/feedback/comments so I have taken some time to do exactly that.
These comments are in my opinion "constructive criticisum" and not meant to be anything else.
Hope I can help
Later

PS Excuse the spelling, didn't have time to check !!

Well thanks for the input. The company I work for (Crowd Gather) has just recently bought this site (within a few months) and they are building a forum network. Currently they own 70+ forums and sometime soon they will all be networked together, kind of like a myspace with forums. There will be homepage profiles for members and access to all of the forums with one user name/id.
more info on them at crowdgather.com ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
As for this particular site, mostly we want it to be a forum, where people can discuss, question, debate, recommend, and promote their mixes/music. But we also want input on what would make beat-boot-ique a more appealing place to be.
Thanks so much for posting in this thread =) I'll forward it along to the powers that be.
